Most-common opponents and head-to-head records per flagship sport, computed from the platform's verified results datasets — every series below is real games only. Depth is one season per sport (labeled per sport in the coverage table): “most common” currently means league double round-robins, conference-tournament and playoff rematches, not multi-year history. The tables deepen automatically as prior seasons are backfilled. The Closest rivalries view ranks recurring series nearest .500 with the smallest cumulative point differentials — the competitive-parity signal for non-conference scheduling.

Football head-to-head is not shown because the verified football results dataset currently holds only 9 games — the 7 state finals and 2 semifinals of fall 2025 — which produce 9 pairs and zero recurring series. Padding a “most common opponents” table from that would misrepresent the data. Football H2H arrives with the full-season results backfill (week-by-week scores), the same backfill that deepens every other sport below. The 9-game file is downloadable for completeness: h2h-football.csv.
Scope rule: a game counts only when both teams are Colorado programs in that sport's verified teams dataset. Games against out-of-state tournament opponents or unlisted teams were excluded, not tabulated (soccer 23, basketball 237, baseball 285, lacrosse 45, hockey 2). Pairs are unordered (home/away does not affect any number here). Series lines read from Team A's perspective in the matchup column; the cumulative differential names the leader.
Basketball — 16 rows excluded as extraction artifacts. The source results file contains 16 rows pairing a school with itself under an abbreviation (e.g., CSCHS vs Colorado Springs Christian, DCA vs Dayspring Christian Academy) with identical scores both ways — impossible results that would corrupt any pair they touch. They are excluded from all head-to-head numbers above and flagged for re-extraction in the source dataset (boys-basketball-results-2025-26.csv).
Baseball — 5 mirror duplicates collapsed (the same game harvested from both teams' schedule pages, same date/pair/score line). Same-date doubleheaders with different score lines were kept as separate games — doubleheaders are real in baseball (251 same-date pair groups).
Closest-rivalries ranking: recurring series sorted by series imbalance (difference in wins) ascending, then smallest absolute cumulative point differential, then most meetings. Dead-even curiosities already in the data: Denver East–Regis Jesuit hockey split 2-1 with goals level 6-6; Cheyenne Mountain–Evergreen lacrosse split 1-1, goals 11-11 — a series that includes the triple-overtime 4A state final.
